Non-rotary cars!

Whilst I may appear to be a complete rotary fanatic, it has only been in the last few years that I have been dabbling in these rather "quirky" motors. I've always had a passion for anything mechanical, with a leaning towards old American V8's- you know, the 1959 Caddys with huge fins and rocket tail-lights, '57 Chevys and so on. Another of my particular favourites is the AC Cobra. Now this is a car I can really get excited about. Impractical, shoddy handling, especially in the wet, you get blown to bits when you go above 20 km/h and they cost a bomb...for the real thing. Replicas, however, are a different story- I can indulge my wildest mechanical fantasies and actually build a car that looks pure horn, rather than a few bits of fiberglass stuck on top of a knackered old Beetle. So, I've put a couple of photos on air of two of Perth's better Cobra replicas. Oh, and a few other cars as well!

Not a bad effort, this one. I think it had an injected 302 in it-shame.

Yeah, I like this one- the stripes, the Halibrand (fake?) wheels, and I think it was a big block...

Yum. But I can't help but think that the chrome bumpers might set it off..

Corvette. What more can I say? Unfortunately a bit out of my price range (by $30,000!)

There should be a special space in every little boy's shed for one of these- just like my Tonka toys when I woz young!

HG Monaro. Wind the window down, turn up the stereo, put the seat back & go cruizin'. But only if you're called Fabio.

HQ Monaro. Much the same as for the HG. This car did look very nice in the flesh!

Saw this shortly after they came out in 1989. Stuck among Ferrari Boxers/Spyders etc, looked kinda weird- maybe better if it was red? (even the Honda three wheeler was Red!)

Check out that price- in Pounds sterling. Hmm, that's $1 million in Oz!

What a strange looking old Studie. It is different, though.

Another favourite of mine- the old E-types. Just wish they were reliable!

Hmm, which is the front and which is the back? You won't find a larger boot anywhere!

Oh well, that's all I've scanned for now, so check back later and there might be more!
