200 CID "T" Code 6 CLY.

The 200 cid 6 cylinder has been used in many Ford Vehicles. It has been standard equipment in the Fairlanes-Falcon and Falcon Futuras.Upgrades for the 1968 200 cid engine included a dual inlet air cleaner that would draw in warmed air by the exhaust manifold or cooler air from under the hood-or a combination of booth, thus giving quicker warm-up,reduce carburetor icing and lower emissions.

289 "C" Code V-8

The 289 is the most popular engine in the '60.The 289 is a lightweight, powerful and easy to maintain motor. This motor was dropped in the late 1968 model year in favor of the 302.Information given to me places the last 289's installed in July of '68.Given this my Fastback has a build date of 24 July in the N.J. plant.Could it be one of the last few off the assembly line.I don't know-but I wouldn't trade that little 289 for all the 5.0 in the world!

The 428 CJ was introduced on April 1,1968(Don't you just love that timing by Ford).Pure power in a light weight body. The 428 CJ was optioned in 2253 Fastbacks and 563 Hardtops. There were an unknown number of Convertibles ordered some have placed the number of units at 15 to 20 however no-one is sure due to poor record keeping. We have seen one number given which said the total Production run was 2816 units. But adding the numbers give above this is in question when you added the Convertible units.
