Instead of paying a licence fee of $10,000 Ford chose to sell the Mustang in Germany under its original project name - T5.This meant to change all the Mustang badging, different literature and advertising material aside from the usual export specific parts.

1968 T5s were sold to German civilians as well as US Army staff people who order the Mustang via their internal PX-military order system.

According. to Kevin Marti's Ford files:

286 Hardtops
109 Fastbacks
85 convertibles

total of 480 T5s were built of the 1968 model

The above photo is of a 18,000 mileage 68 T5 convertible.

The car was in a collection for over 18 years and is mostly unrestored. Note the FORD and T5 sign on the fender.

Note the emblem on the passenger side dash and the T5 owners manual laying on the console.

Note the very unique big front turn indicator lenses in place of the driving lights. These are not typical for a T5, however were in this case requested by the dealer's local approval authority.

T5s sold to German civilians as well as to other European countries had a km/h tach, while some US Army staffs T5s might have a mph-tach.
