Check back here periodically, as I finish projects I'll add them to the journal and give some reviews. 1/25/02 - I'm in the final stages of a massive overhaul on the 745. Here's what I've done this last month: Custom T3/T4 turbo, custom intercooler pipes, Turbonetics Godzilla blow-off valve, MVP high-volume fuel pump, MVP adjustable panhard rod, new U-joints and balanced driveshaft, new front bushings, Volvo oil pressure gauge. The new T3/T4 turbo is great. Custom built by Cherry Turbos with a 3" wastegate. I had to modify the downpipe for a 3" flange, and I added some flex pipe and threw out the bellhousing exhaust bracket. The exhaust manifold turbo flange opening was enlarged for the bigger turbo (essentially a Mitsubishi to Garrett conversion). The manifold was also cracked on the backside (no surprise) and I had it flow-cast repaired. It came out incredibly well. I'm still awaiting intercooler pipes, once I get those I can mount the blow-off valve, and begin testing. As for the other modifications I've done, they are all great. The car is much smoother, I eliminated the driveline vibrations I was having, as well as the clunk from the front end. Also, the adjustable panhard rod Is excellent. The suspension is just the way I want it, really added a lot to the rear-end. It corners flat and accurate. |
