The track's temp gauge must have not been working - AGAIN! When I got home at 12:15AM I checked the therm. with the temperature being 74 F.

Summary:

Nice 'cool' night at the track, or as cool as you can get for South Florida! I started off the night with a 14.817, but was fairly consistant right around the 14.8's, low 14.9's. Decided to change my launch style. I was torque loading to about 2000 RPM, then let off with minimal wheel spin. Decided to say the heck with loading, went to the staging area, foot on brake, touched gas ever so slightly (maybe 900 RPM) car in "D", and took off (very little wheel spin).

First time using this new founded technique, I ran a 14.405! Wow!!! Made one more run that evening, started in "2", shifted at 5000, and that's where I hit my best time. Surprised the pre 1996 Mustang 5.0 guys, that's for sure! Now I'm REALLY looking forward to going again! Next time I'll be a bringin' ice, I'll be shooting for low to mid 14.1's (if I can be consistant, of course!!!). Long term goal is to dip into the 13's, but don't think it can happen without forking out some extra $$$ (or cold weather)!!!
