The stock ignition system in your Jeep is basically just that- stock. Good for the basic engine which has no modifications and is not pushing any real power. A decent set of wires for your system and a good aftermarket coil and brain will put a smile on your face. I started with the basic Accel wires but didn't notice anything. What I found out is the pretty, fat wires that you buy at the stores that say high performance do not necessarily mean more power. With Aurora wires, I have found to be a noticable difference in drivability. I purchased these about 6 months before I coughed up for the brain itself. With the installation of the brain expect higher rpm's and heavier top end punch. The beauty of this system is that your existing system stays intact and install only takes about 1 hour. If anything fails you can hookup your original system in 30 seconds. The other major benefit compared to other aftermarket systems is the cost. You can spend an easy $500.00 on others. A full Aurora ignition with the coil built into the brain is about $250.00 Canadain. This also translates into better fuel economy, more power and faster start up. Don't get me wrong, MSD, Accel, Crane, Jacobs Energy are all excellent systems compared to the "Crap" stock system you may have now. Depending on your availability you may not have access to some systems. Upgrade your system to round out your performance package.Here's a list of some company's ignition packages.
