Hmm. Who do you think wins this race?
Bye Bye! Another VW VR6 wasted by my HEAVY 3530Lb 3.0 Liter Z.
On the first run I shattered my clutch pilot bearing on the launch, bounced the rev limiter in 2nd, and shifted into 4th before the finish line. Also, I was running on Z rated street tires. This explains the slower trap speed and OK but not so impressive trap time. On my 2nd run I got a good start but I seemed to lose ground by the 1/8th mi. mark and the top of 3rd gear was weak (hint, hint). The last run was a disaster! You can see my times got consecutively worse and I lost alot of top end power as the night progressed which was a result of the weakening rod bearing.
This was a bad day for Z at the track. After my last run I started hearing a knocking noise. I tried driving the car home and BOOM! It turned out to be a spun rod bearing that decided to shoot the rod through my oil pan. Ouch!! Luckily I got some help from fellow ECZA members Sparkie (David Long) and Chivas (Dan the "Porn Star") and made it home safely that night. It took 2 months of driving a Cavalier and anxiously waiting for my Z to get an ATK Engine implant from Lynnes Nissan West. Since the new ATK engine, Stillen X-Pipe Exhaust, JWT lighter flywheel, and JWT performance clutch the car is stronger than ever but I've decided never to race my Z again and just enjoy the ride.
