The Restoration Progress Week 4

8/23/97 Saturday

The Bonnet and the Deck Lid have been removed. The Bonnet will be replaced with a new one, and the deck lid's dings are being removed. All dings on the entire body are being taken out now. Also, as mentioned in my work plan, there are some holes in the trunk area (from a after market ac unit I have since removed) that show through to the cabin that will also be fixed. Looks like the Beetle will be going in for painting late next week. Assuming the ordered bonnet gets delivered on time.

8/28/97 Thursday

The Beetle is in the paint booth getting some coats of primer. The new wings and bonnet came in today at V-Dubs in Irving. Painting will probably start Monday.
