People taking their profit I guess. I lost 50K today but I'm up 3 2K for the year. Greasers and piece o'shit shovelheads suck. Smart guys, yuppies and dependable EVOS rule. Hi old friend! You know this mag isn't something I'd read...it's not my thing...but I certainly wish you the best in your new endeavor. I was sad to hear you lost your bike, yet glad to hear you're doing something you love and believe in. Hope you give t e readers what they want without jeopardizing who YOU are. Sounds like you've got an international following, and folks who want to see you succeed. I agree with the ones who say you should start the numbering over again...it's your's now...#1 is pretty pecial! Also agree with the folks who'd like to see cheaper stock so they CAN participate in something they, too believe in...have you considered two different kinds...maybe a corp. within a corp (is that even an option)? Best of luck...pics & music are great! M (Leggs)

Hey Hammer I'm no ass kisser, but Ihave to agree with you. The riding and wrenching come first. This sitting around shooting the bull is only a winter pastime. Genghis quit for his own personal reasons,I hope you go on, but if you choose not to never lose that passion for riding!

Hammer, Great job in trying to keep the horse alive. Please keep showcasing the low budget choppaz (even Limey's). I am a die hard H-D four speed chain drive guy and don't care what kind of motor is stuffed into it, even Evo's. I presently ride a pretty much s ripped '79 FLH. I had a '95 Bad Boy for a while but felt like a lawyer every time people saw me on it, so I sold it and kept the FLH. When I am fortunate to get a garage with maybe an attached house, I plan on building either a chopper or bobber, prefer bly a Pan, Knuck, or Flattie just to prove to the "Biker Lites" that these bikes are still glorious and should be ridden hard! Anyway, keep up the good work and maybe I'll send a letter to the new magazine. Crispy Bloomington, IL

So, I've seen lots of changes occur including David Snow's slow building of a fantastic magazine that spoke for the real world biker. I believe from your writings, since you come on board, that you have what it takes to raise the phoenix from the ashes.Once again, good luck and ride to ride, no other reason matters. Dan

HAMMER, AS I WAS WAITING FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE IRON HORSE MAGAZINE AT MY LOCAL NEWS STAND, CHECKING EVERY DAY, I LOOKED UP GENGIS HOME PAGE AND FOUND OUT THE REASON FOR THE DELAY. THIS TOTALLY SUCK,S. AFTER THE FUCKED-UP ISSUIES LAST YEAR, I GAVE ALOT F THOUGHT TO STARTING MY OWN ALTERNATIVE BIKER MAGAZINE. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO JOURNALISM EXPERIENCE, I FIGURE IF KEITH BALL CAN EDIT A RAG, THEN I SURELY COULD. ESPECIALLY AFTER READING ONE OF HIS SO CALLED BIKER NOVELS. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE! I ALSO NOW A DUDE WHO PUT OUT VISITOR GUIDES FOR SMALL SKI RESORTS. ABOUT 9 ISSUIES PER YEAR. IF THAT IDIOT CAN DO IT, SO CAN THIS IDIOT. I DON,T KNOW IF YOU BOUGHT THE RIGHT,S TO IRON HORSE OR NOT, BUT IF YOU NEED ANY HELP I WOULD BE GLAD TO INVEST IN THIS V NTURE WITH YOU. EVEN IF YOU DON,T BUY THE RIGHT,S TO IRON HORSE I WOULD LIKE TO INVEST IN ANOTHER VENTURE WITH YOU. SO WE CAN STRAIGHTEN OUT THE TRUE MEANING OF BIKER JOURNALISM. Just want to let you know that I have been a reader of ih since Nov 89 and have watched it grow and evolve over the years. At that time Pfouts was running the show and did a pretty good job of it. They actually apologized for featuring swingarm rides! Sno took over pretty soon after, and did a friggin bang-up job. I'm glad that you have hold of it now, because it looks as if you will move the horse in a different but positive direction. I definitely think you got "it" , and that the change was inevitable nd good. Couple thoughts on ih. First, when the 2 or 3 issues came out with riders instead of women on the cover I was able to buy ih at Barnes& Noble! Second, you may take a lot of crap for putting japbikes in (like JT's SR500 spread), but I think it might be worth it if you are trying to reach a young audience. I personally think that HD's make the best chops, but that a person with talent, fresh ideas and no money can make a really cool ride out of an otherwise boring bike. If you look at the English bike scene in AWOL or Streetfighters you can't help but be impressed and inspired by the engineering and ingenuity on display. I'm not in favor of featur ng Honda Shadow " customs" of the bolt on variety, but... well hell, you know class when you see it, and I trust you to feature it. I'm done, thanks.

Hammer, It's good to see you are righting the ship that started to sink after David left. It appears that you are as dedicated as he was in turning out a quality product. I'm an engineer by trade and I read some weird shit for work and leisure, yet the Horse is the only magazine I have always read from cover o cover (except for a couple of recent issues prior to your arrival). I hooked into Angel's site and she lives across the intracoastal (Indian River) from me here in Fl. We've probably riden by each o ther a few times. I'm going to meet her some time. I told her I was jealous that there was an operative right here in the neighborhood and it wasn't me. I'm not one for bike week in Daytona anymore but if you make it down for one of the trailer weeks you are more than welcome to stop by. As Angel said in the Horse it about 90 miles South of Daytona. I don't know how you ride as much as you do up there. I used to have a Sporster in NJ and froze my ass off more than once. My ride was in the Flipp'd section of IH # 145. Also back in 133 and then David put in the picture of the kids in 134. Later. And if you need to waste some time feel free to respond to this E-mail. Speaking of opinions, and yes I know what opinions are worth...Choppers rule. Is it something about leading the way for the ultimate chopper magazine, thereby exposing yourself to public criticism, that makes someone toot their own horn like your Hammer p ge does ? It must be. Maybe it should've been called God's Page ? Why is it not for the strong of mind, are the mentally feebled most easily influenced and impressionable ? Other than that, good job.

I have had alot of harleys and I am to the point where it just doesn`t matter what you ride. What matters is if you ride. One of the things I like the most about the horse is that they show quality bikes that people ride that are not always harleys.Don`t get me wrong I love to see a good clean harley .but if there are 15 super nice harleys next to one old Arial red hunter I`m looking at the Arial.I don`t think I`m the only guy like that.So keep putting non-harley bikes in IH.Thanks for savin a great mag. Yo Hammer.. the Horse is looking good once again. Glad to see some of the old crew back.. but still... some questions sort of remain unanswered.... Whatever became of Sager? And who is the new photog? Hammer/Coviello? Would that be you and Coviello? Or is that one name? Fritz is missed too. Chopperman should return! And lastly, does anyone know the whereabouts of David and Shawn? Are they doing alright? Its kinda like Elvis sightings.. some dopey friends of mine say they thought they saw Rebelene around these parts recen ly, but I'm pretty sure he's moved back down south. Try to maintain the intimate personal depth the old Iron Horse had.. We are one big family. More stuff from English Don too... he has quite a way with his words, and gives IH the gritty New York edge it once had.
