The new front beam, courtesy of Mav, he's swapped out this one to install a disk front end on his splitty panel van. It has the later wider hubs, so my brake bits don't fit, more headaches, but at least this solves my worn kingpin dilema. This beam is lowered about 3 inches I believe.

The new front bench installed, makes a vast improvement on the cabs appearance. Tasteful gray vinyl, I've taken it out to protect it until it's needed.

Another shot of the bench, I've got the rubber mats which should also improve the look, and am going to pick up some new kick panels at a show.

The rear hubs, these are also being a pain, rear shoes are expensive, and the complete new set the PO supplied with the bus are in fact post '63 parts. Yet more expense. Al's lowered the back by one spline also, a tidy but hassle free level.

Looking to the back of the bus, cargo door side. I've fitted up the table carrier I found for Tom at Volksworld '99. It's found it's way into my bus through Toms generous nature (I'm only having to pay 2x what he did) [Tom: joke] and the fact that it's a small hatch version and would also look damn ugly in a 21 window Samba.

I'm going to panel in the sides to make 2 cabinets that I can store everything in. That cherry veneer should finish it all off very nicely.

The table slotted in place in the carrier. The table forms the centre of the bed section and is finished in a particularly hansome 50's design formica.

The same weekend I tinkered with the van I also trucked my rollcage over to the lockup I keep the Beetle in, It's a Safety Devices cage, its a close fit, tighter than a gnats chuff in fact, and I cut the headliner trying to get it in. I've given up and painted it, I'll have to figure out some clever way of fitting it in...

Snazzy Porsche 911 that turned up at the workshop, quite fancy this myself. The owner want's about 11k for it. Maybe later.
