The 356 motor fitted and running. It was quite a squeeze - I had to make the exhaust myself from a Four branch header welded to some brackets I had machined to fit the Porsche exhaust ports which are rectangular. It was a real pain and isn't all that airtight. |

The car looked like this for quite some time as we fiddled around with getting the engine working. It was pissing oil and petrol all over the floor for some time, the first time we started it there was quite a bit of smoke too :) |
This shot looks pretty much the same as the last doesn't it ? In it you can see the Oil drain container for catching at least some of the oil spraying from the filter hoses. Also the Fire extinguisher, ready and primed at all times ! A wise move as you can also see the fuel line we were using to prime the carbs hanging out of the back. |

Here's Dave strolling into shot in a VolksWagen mechanic stylee. He helped out with getting the engine into place and running. |
Looks good from any angle doesn't it ? |
This is Dave's Oval. It's been about as long as mine in restoration. Seeing as Dave's garage is beside his house, and he's not been in work for about 6 months, you'd have thought he would have finished it by now wouldn't you ? |
The jury's out for me on those foxcraft spats. The car is for sale, as Dave has more cars than he needs, and is out of work at the moment. That doesn't mean it's a free gift though. Sensible offers only. It's mint and has tons of trinkets, all work to a high standard as Dave is a perfectionist.. |
Hey ! My car again, that’s what we want to see. The Deck lid is back from the painters. After hunting around swapmeets for a decent decklid that didn't cost the earth I gave up. Dave repaired the original one and fitted cab louvers. I love it. |
Recent front shot, the door windows and quarter lights complete and fitted. Not quite the nightmare job I was expecting, the horror stories everyone told me were not altogether true. |
Repro coloured running boards match the paint nicely. Great fun adding trinkets like this. Beats the hell out of transmission work. |
Lights painted and fitted, new WCM rubbers, they look like new now. |
Shiny shot, you can see all that fluffy headliner I had fitted. The old one was hanging in strips from the roof. Cost me about 200 quid. |
Check out the 24k gold Porsche script. I had it plated in Bristol for that "chicano" look. J |
This pic is a bit older, don't know how this slipped in. You can see that I need to get carpets. Cheasley or Bernie N. charge about 300 quid. That’s a lot, for a few square feet of carpet. I fancy the Honey square wave from Wolfsburg West. |
Door panels fitted, Empi doorpull (real) The dual quiet pack is a stainless item I picked up second hand in the Trade-It paper, it had about 20 miles on it but the guy didn't like it. I did, it was cheap. |
Oooh! Arty alert. My attempt at Photo journalism. Only I don't know which way up this pic should go. You decide. |

A Porky. |
