National VolksWorld Show '98 at Sandown Park.

Here's me! I sent Volksworld some carefully selected photos for the show entry, as the car was far from finished.

The car was only MOT'd on the Monday, then I had a few jobs to do before driving it up on Thursday. It poured with rain the whole way, and covered my car in shit. Farmers now call me up when they need rain, asking me to take this car for a drive.

I polished this car for 5 hours, the sad thing is I didn't really mind - it was somewhat boring though.

A finished interior ! I must at this point give special thanks to Dave, who pulled the beautifully hand crafted carpets from his oval and helped fit them to my car. He's not shy of reminding me, but yes, I owe him.

This is Keith Seumes "Flashback" car, that fantastic paintjob covered with black ? Keith said that he wanted to drive it on the street and didn't feel he could do so with the wild paint. Me, I would have gone with the wild paint, you too I expect.

Bernies Oval from the rear.

It's a nice car though isn't it ?

This is my fave car of the show, the owner drove it from Oslo and took the best detail prize. He had buried the BRMs in his garden, and sprayed the car with paint mixed with matting agent, to give it that "just stepped out of a barn" look. Bonkers

Bit of a line up for the Old School display, railings for pushing on to the cars.

Lots of lovely paintwork going on in the Custom area. More Volkswagens

Bernies oval from the side. American Racing Mags. He's just copying me you know, really. Only on four times the budget. Better make that ten times.

Mine again, great!

The detail on the stocker display was astounding. These cars were sooo clean. I mean you could eat your dinner off mine yes, but these cars you could have open heart surgery on.

Top car, been in all the mags I think, VW Trends too. Don't know any more than that, buy the mags if you're interested.

Who is that cheeky bald chep with the VolksWagen Pick-up vehicle ? Why it's Lee Griffiths!

There's only one lowered splitty, and this is it. Dropped spindles, juice, tubbed - radical.

I went in it at BugJam, its like a plough.

This thing's getting faster, I managed to set the valve clearances. I had to modify the bumper hangers to get the rocker covers off, modify as in chop up. Other than a bad oil leak from a filter union it's running great. I need a proper distributor though, I'm running a 009 which doesn't have the right advance curve.

That's where I get to sit. Wish I was there now instead of stuck behind this shitty desk.

Roofrack on or off ? I can't decide.

Off it looks more like an old school car, but it's a great trinket to have on the car. It's about as aerodynamic as a house. The cooler is Daves.

Write, give me your opinion.
