then in febuary 1976 the prestige is not only avialable for the french president, but can
also be obtained by the "normal" people.
This car has in the back more legroom then a rolls royce (!!!) and costs only ff.55.000,--.

the prestige is build on the floorpan of the cx break and is one of the few cars in the world with a wheelbase longer than 3 meters !!! from 1978there is also the 2400 injection with 128hp and a top speed of 190kmh. at first the prestiges had a so called "low-roof" but this was very soon replaced by a "high-roof" wich was much more comfortable for the passengers in the back.

combine the luxury of this car with its sleek appearance and you get a lot of prestige being seen in a prestige.

In development the prestige has passed the same stages as the other cx types. In other words, the prestige also did get the 2500 engine and a real automatic-gearbox instead of the c-matic.

the prestige was a average succes with +/- 3000 build every year.
