my own story
(or how
i came infected by the virus "citropneumonia")
my first REAL (SORRY FOR
ALL YOU 2CV LOVERS) car was a gs special break
and i really loved it.
oh my god what a comfort
(my parents drove a lada
at that time; now they own a bx19trs).
due to the color scheme
most of my friends and family called it the cookie.
this car made such an
impression on me that i decided to never drive a other car
than a citroen. after
driven the gs for more than a year without any problems
i decided to take the
next step and i bought a cx athena.
big mistake !!!!!
this car had an 2400 engine
(yes this is correct it was really a athena with a 2400 engine),
leather seats and had
some kind of a dark blue color.
but what i did not know
was that the subframe had holes where they did not suppose
to be; the doors had
some kind of air conditioning (holes)on the underside and the rear-wheels
where standing in a kind odd angle.
but what a ride. the
moment i sat down in that car the rest of the world did not matter
anymore.
i was
a diravi-captian and king of the road.
after some 45.000 km and repairs which where more then what i paid for the whole car we had to part.
because of those expenses
i did not buy a cx but i drove for some years several bx'es.
nice cars,i am one of
the guys who really think they are great citroens !!!
but ? (i say no
more, remember my mother drives one !!!)
a few years later i saw that beautiful black gti automatic and bought it on the spot. i drove that car for nearly 2 years without any technical problems (25 K a year). the only minor problem was a tiny bit of rust next to the roof, but this was quickly repaired.
then my girlfriend wanted
a smaller car and we bought an tiny ax (k-way).
(wich we still own by
the way). Actually the ax is a very nice drive, especially when i compared
it with my late company car; a opel corsa diesel. the ax is much smoother
and has much more comfort.
here she takes an almost 3 wheeled corned
but the cx-virus was still
there. after driven the athena and a gti i thought it was about time to
drive the ultimate cx; the prestige. if one of you think his cx is the
best drive in the world; get an prestige and you really know what a "magic
carpet ride" is.
At this time (beginning
1997) we had what i called the citroen a-b-c. as shown in the above
picture we drove an ax
k-way, an 14 re bx and on sundays a 25 prestige.
despite of having sold
my prestige lately i still suffer from the virus and keeping at alive with
my brand new XsaRA COUPE. (AND YES; ITS OFFCOURSE "JAUNE NAISSANT")
all of my other dreamcars
i buy as models. mostly citroens of course but also others.
the picture shows a small
part of the citroen collection; wich includes more than 30
different cx modelcars
(scaled 1:87 to 1:16).
