Navy Days
This was me right out of bootcamp, man, was I really that young? I did alot of things in the Navy.
I started out as a mechanic working on "yellow gear". Thats the equipment the guys on the flightline or flightdeck use to move and service their aircraft.
Wasn't too long after I got to Miramar Naval Air Station that I got "volunteered" for an anti-terrorism team that the base was forming. I got to do some pretty cool things, repelling and shooting guns of all types, learned alot of SWAT tactics, and riot control. We would get teargassed alot....ahhh, the sweet smell of CS gas! We even provided bodyguard service for the BlueAngels and for then Vice-Prez Bush. I made alot of friends in the Navy and miss it sometimes. Looking back now I wished I had taken lots of pics of everyone. My brother Ron was in the Navy the same time I was and we were even stationed close by together, I hope to have a pic of his ship, the USS Cushing up on here soon so check back!
