Jeff Dorgay of Wallwerks:

What started out as a love for automobiles has turned into a business for Jeff Dorgay of Wallwerks in Phoenix, Arizona. Dorgay is an auto artist with the "drive" and talent that has turned his business into a great success over the last two years. Today, Dorgay is selling auto prints all over the world.

Jeff Dorgay's claim to fame includes an image he created of one of TV celebrity Jerry Seinfeld's Porsches. Recently Dorgay learned that he is the only officially licensed artist producing artwork of Porsche cars. Many well-known car magazines have purchased Dorgay's works to hang in their offices. Wallwerks had a booth at the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale last year, garnering even more business. Dorgay's images are not just photographs: some have a pop art, "Andy Warhol" quality; others look almost like watercolors or acrylics.

Dorgay's love for cars takes him to shows such as the Concours Italiano, a large Ferrari show in Carmel, Calif. this August. The show attracts auto enthusiasts and collectors from all over the world, people with the money and the desire to get high tech portraits made of their favorite automobiles. Dorgay says that last year there were 150 cars in the show. Jerry Seinfeld is an example of an avid car customer: he has quite a few Porches. "He's got the first 911 ever brought into the U.S.," explains Dorgay. "The 911 was an air-cooled car. Now Porsche has gone to a water-cooled car, and Seinfeld owns the last air-cooled 911 produced. So now he's got the irst and the last air-cooled 911 ever produced."

A former photographer, Dorgay's current works are limited editions of 500. "Everything is signed, numbered and has a certificate of authenticity with it. We guarantee our prints against fading for 15 years. This ink jet technology is still a little bit vague so we follow the lead of big digital print studios and guarantee the work." However, with technology improving all the time, Dorgay believes the next reprints he will do for his customers will last from 20 to 30 years.
