In 1981 when Scott was 17 years old, Scott and his oldest brother Ron went together to get their first race car. It was an old Pontiac Firebird they bought for $75.00 and did it needed some work to get it ready to race.
In 1982 Scott bought his own car pictured here. That's where the number that's on his car today comes from. This Chevy was one that his cousin Jeff Vantlan raced for a few years. Scott had gone to the races many times with Jeff and helped him work on the car even before " 81. He remembers thinking " boy that driving stuff must be a lot of fun."
Scott raced in the Street Stock class until the "91 season
