The '97 season was the first complete season for Campbell Racing at Tri-State Speedway and Scott ended up 11th in the points. He was as high as 4th in the points at one time but after a late season crash the frame of the car wouldn't let it handle any more. This event also ended the racing career of the 3rd 82 and motivated the purchase of a new 82 for the '98 season.
