January Monthly Meeting
The January meeting on tuesday January 12th ath 6:30pm started off our
new year. At the monthly second Tuesday get together were Charles Calkins,
Adam Berusch, Jack O’Brien Tim Simmons, Ruben Perfetti, John Hauser, Steve
Karapetian, Jim Clarkson, Blake Frazier, Will and Katarina Jarrell. In the
car park was a nice representation on the Italian marques that bring us
together. Ruben’s white Alfa Romeo GTV 6, Steve’s red Ferrari 308 GT4, Will
and Katarina’s cream ‘81 Fiat Spyder, and Jim’s red Ferrari 328.
Ruben gave an informal presentation on the auto show in Detroit and
handed out press packages on the more interesting cars such as the new
Mercedes SLR and a photo album of all the cars. Ruben works as a designer at
Volvo and he gave us some interesting insights.
Thor Mirchanani sent the Mid Atlantic Alfa Romeo driving school
applications for March and Jim Clarkson and John Hauser spoke about the event
and encouraged participation.
Blake Frazier announced that Virginia International Raceway had to cancel
our January 23 outing. Blake arranged for another trip this weekend Saturday
January 16th. We will meet at the Shoneys on Wendonver in Greensboro next to
Foreign Cars Italia at 8am. we will leave promptly at 8:15am under Blake’s
direction. For more information on the trip to VIR this saturday call Blake

Our European Car Festival will be held October 9th and the Ferrari Club
will be holding its Concours at the show. For more information on this event
call Steve Karapetian at 336 766 1785.
Blake Frazier will be heading up our group’s attendance at the May Hill
Climb at Beech Mountain. This event is the successor to the Chimney Rock Hill
Climb. For anyone interested Blake has arranged free overnight accomodations
and the cost for food is $25 per person . This will be an excellent mid

In March we plan to join the British Clubs in a Benito Juarez Rally as we
did last year with a total of 26 cars participating.
We have gained and lost some Italian Cars in our circle. Charles sold
his Alfa Romeo GTV 6 and Adam sold his Ferrari 328 GTB. Adam bought a Ferrari 512 BBi
and Will and Katarina brought a Fiat into the fold.

The Annual Benito Juarez Rally
The Benito Juarez Rally is set for Saturday March 20th and the driver's
meeting is at 12 and the first car is off at 12:30. We
had 5 clubs represented and 27 cars to participate last march in this annual
Time Speed Distance Rally which runs from the Pilot Mountain Overlook off Hwy
Fifty two outside Winston Salem. Give us a ring.

Corsa Rossa's European Car Festival Update
Corsa Rossa donated the proceeds after expenses to Reynolda House for
its Childrens’ Art programs. Corsa Rossa’s European Car Show will be held
this year on Saturday October 9th at Reynolda House and Village. Steve
Karapetian announced that the Ferrari Club was going to hold its Southeast
Regional Concours that weekend in conjunction with the Corsa Rossa European
Car Festival at Reynolds House, Village and Gardens.

MAARC Driving School at Roebling Road
On March 20th - 21st it's time again for the much appreciated Mid Atlantic Alfa Romeo Club driving school at Roebling Road. Regsitration is $195.00 before january 30th, $210.00 before February 28th and $235.00 after that date.
