August 12, 1998--Finally!
Sorry I have not updated the site, but I have been really busy. But here is what I know about the new engine:
289 block, overbored to about 296 c.i.d.
high lift cam
Offenhauser intake manifold
Summit headers and mufflers
Holley Aluminum valve covers
Holley four barrel carb.
Accel points, wires, and plugs
mechanical distributor
aluminum heads
flex-fan
That is all I can remember in detail, oh yeah, it is Ford engine blue. But anyway, I am going to go run a 0-30 and a 0-60 test on it right now, unless my mom says no. I hope she doesnt.
Part II
Well, lets see, it ran 0-60 in 9.22 seconds, down from 10.97 and it ran 45-60 in 5.83 seconds. I ran these tests straight through drive though, so I know I can pick it up if I run it more in the lower gears, but I didnt get to tonight. But I still dont think that the 0-60 time is going to come down to the 6 second estimate that Bob gave me even if I do run it through the lower gears. Oh well.
