The Karmann GhiaI am glad to report that this car is finally getting under way. I recently dropped 2500 bucks into the long-block, which is at the shop now getting balanced This is a picture of the Ghia when I bought it.So far I have managed to buy a beetle made from about 3 different ones for parts and I scored a nice 1600 out of it which I will use for parts. I already have a 35mm filtered oil pump and a lightened flywheel(both which came with the engine) and I need to start thinking about every other little part on the car.(see projected engine spec list) There is the stock 1200cc engine, as you know I have already done away with it!I bought a Gas heater!!! There are many advantages to Gas heaters, 1 Heat!! 2 instant heat!! 3 warm heat!! 4 a hi-preformance header instead of heater boxes I got the heater out of a fastback and it is like new!, and gas heaters are very rare as well. There I am with the other minibike & VW guy, GlenWe have started to sand the car down so it can be painted. It turns out that it once had a 2-tone paint job, and it was covered up with a really crappy paint job that has allowed thousands of rock chips to be produced. I am planning to do a 2-tone paint job again, but not half roof, half body. Everyone does it like that, I am going to paint the blue that you see now along with white, but I want to show off the fender lines of the car so the white will run along the fender lines. I have only seen it done once and it looked good. as you can see, I am getting rid of that chrome stripping on the side of the car but it is fastened by approx. 24 little holes throughout the body. We are using Bondo-Glass to fill in those holes, and are not having luck, so I have decided to weld them instead. Projected engine spec sheet
