In Memory of Eric Jasniewicz
This webpage is dedicated to the memory of my friend Eric Jasniewicz.
I met Eric not long after I bought my KLR650, I seen his KLR website, and sent him an email. Soon after, we were riding to the mountains, and doing some serious dual sport riding.
The first time I went to Two Wheels Only motorcycle resort, I was tagging along behind Eric. He introduced me to the owners G.T. & Britt, and alot of other riders up there. And showed me some of the best roads and trails around.
Eric always had a good story to tell around the campfire, and he was the only one that could stay up all night shootin the bull like me. We shut that place down many times.
He really loved to ride, and I will miss riding with him. I learned alot from Eric, as did everybody that knew him.
This is Eric and his new DRZ400 earlier this summer. He had just bought this bike about a week before, and I talked him into getting his new bike muddy for the first time. I took my old XR250 out to the trails, and we rode for hours exploring the North Georgia mountains.

Later this summer, Eric met up with me and several other riders, and showed us how to ride up to the old fire lookout tower up in the mountains. When we got to the top, Eric smiled and said in his loud voice "This is MY place!". It is very beautiful up there, with a 360 degree view of the mountains below.
From now on, that fire tower will always be known as Erics Place.

Eric Lawrence Jasniewicz, formerly of the New Britain area, died of a seizure in his sleep Friday morning, October 6, 2000, while visiting his
mother, Patricia A. Jasniewicz, and his sister, Lisabeth Helene Jasniewicz,of Berlin. He attended area schools, including Central Connecticut State

towns as "the kid with the V-8 Pinto". An avid and determined motorcyclist, he outlived three of his ever-bigger-and-badder bikes. He loved biking in the mountains of Georgia and sharing knowledge and laughter
with others on his KLR web page. Eric was also a great admirer of Massad Ayoob, believed strongly in firearm rights and safety, and enjoyed the
challenge of the firing range with his Glock. He valued honesty, integrity, loyalty, and hard work. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him, and who appreciated his intelligence, sensitivity, and witty humor.
