Nice car. I like the Olds 455 idea. 4.10 gears are too much. A 455 is a torque monster. Go with 3.23's. They will be quicker. Unless it is heavily modded, you won't be going any higher than 5500rpm. It isn't a high rever.

I have only driven chevy malibu's and I am on my seveth one right now. I have had two doors, four doors, station wagons and el camino's (1978-1979-1980-1981). My favorite has been the station wagons, but the time I get them they are too gone to save. W ere could I get a malibu station wagon that runs and has a good frame? I would even buy one that's already done, but I only have two thousand dollars right now. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. thanx, Jonathan

Nice paint job. Mine is 2 toned with dark blue/green bottom & light blue/green top. You said that the 350 was a stock '76 Chevelle, what did yours come stock with? The reason I ask is because mine is a stock V6 231 & I want to put a V8 350. I was wondering if that was the case for you and if it was too much trouble to make the switch ins ead of finding another malibu with 350 stock.

Car looks great, Jim. I like the color as well as the choice of rims. If you need interior parts (like I do) I've noticed that the dash and door skins from a '78-86 Monte Carlo are the identical Chevy replacements. And for that roof liner, you could alway try removing it, ROLL BACK the material, scrape off the old foam, spray adhiesive on the liner, and then roll the material back on. I'm gonna try this trick myself because my interior is almost entirely shot. Good luck. Marlow from London, Ont. CANADA

I just bought this car and it still has the original V-6 in it. The exterior is mint, the the interior needs work, the bench seats mainly. Can anyone give me some advice or suggestions on how to go about changing the engine to a V-8. And also which car's b cket seats will bolt up to this car. Any help will be appreciated. One more thing is there a malibu "club" out there somewhere? Thanks again.

Nice buy! I bought my '79 Malibu from Saskatchewan (salt free province), for $700CDN. It has 60 thousand original miles, new doors and paint. I stripped off the vinyl roof and it looks real sharp. I plan to drop a 350cid into it but I'm gonna miss the awe ome gas mileage I'm getting now. I especially like the colour of your 'Bu, cool wheels too.

Hey....nice web page! My son has a '79 2 dr. he's trying to build up--college kid with more time than $$$$$$. We keep picking up parts cars and stripping what we need and unloading the balance. Anyway, we've been thinking about a Buick 455 as an engine transplant....have'nt done much research yet on mounts and alignment problems but know it would fit.
