Racereport 20/8 2000

Another class win!
Crew: MrBeam, Biggles, Clapton, Desmo & Reodor.
Fixes: Higher spoiler by 2 cms, new tankstopschema. And the sender from the
coolant expansion tank was changed, the old was faulty. (see later)

DESMO started and we sort of held positions through the first hour. 
We were second in the class by a small margin to the Matex Corsa, 
maybe we made an earlier tankstop. We were almost equal i speed. 
They had their 'hot' driver and our team is evenly matched so we 
were not so anxious.
Team SBK's Audi and NoBudget's Golf were about matched, but we were a little faster.  

CLAPTON took next turn and came in claiming that she had never been nicer to handle. 
You could just cruise, and cruise fast.
The Audi came in with a broken radiator after hitting a tyre barrier someone had 
kicked out in the front of the road. They changed it but the spare was leaking.

MR BEAM took the third hour, and he came in after 15 minutes with a broken 
radiator hose. Lucky we had the sender changed, this time it was no spray 
of water, it was a big leak.
It took some 7 minutes to fix it but we changed still in the lead.
As last time, Park Ferme in the lead, hoping for no more unscheduled stops.

BIGGLES went out and kept the pace and everything on the road and we (he) 
managed to get to the end of 2 hours, probably thanx to the little stop we made 
previous hour. The Audi was parked for good with a busted head gasket. Pity!

REODOR took over for the fifth hour. We knew that we were fairly secure in the 
lead after Matex Corsa had been it the pits and changed something some 10 minutes 
the second hour. And we had some the laps on the No Budget Golf.

DESMO went out the last hour, and 5 minutes after we got the standings. 
We had 10 laps in the Golf and 5 on the Corsa, made a makeshift signalboard
from a creeper, and signalled +5 and 21 for the number on the Corsa. 
And waited.
In the end we were first in class and second totally after another Corsa with 
a 2500 cc V6 and before a Volvo 740 turbo with som 300 hp. 

And the tires held the distance. 
Probably not the brakepads, maybe we'll need better cooling. 
  
Next race the 16/th of september. Desmo and probably Biggles wont come, 
we need drivers. Anyone?
