Race number 2, Sviestad 23/5 1999


Drivers: 
MrBeam,

1900 cc, fibreglass bonnet (hood)...  


Prerace.
She dindnt start easily... again... ignition turns the other way.. again.. 


Start 900.
Reodor started and made his usual chicken race.... 
preserving the car he says when hes just slow.. 

1000.
Biggles got out and was doing som 6 secs faster than last year with the 1600.
He made a dent in the rear wing with the aid of a Volvo.. 
"I had just parked" he said afterwards.. in the middle of the track in the esses.. 
He lost the gearchanger after som e 15 mins and came towed in. 
After securing the linkage we found out that we had no clutch, it was engaged
all the time. 
1100.
After trying to fix the clutch we decided to run her without clutch and Biggles
went out again and came in att 1200 for the par ferme.
Later he got a 2 min stop and go for disintegratin the front spoiler against 
a marker cone. Reodor asked the officials to give him another 2 for damaging 
the car. Request denied.
1400.  
We tanked att the start. She took 46 litres in the 55 litre tank. Now we knows 
she can make two hours.
Desmo went out and did some fairly fast laps using only third gear, now she
has a poweband from 3500 to 6800, compared with 5000-6800 with the 1600..
He came in with 20 minutes to go to change front tires. Maybe they were cooked,
maybe oil, maybe just worn down to the harder rubber.
1500.
MrBeam went out and held a steady pace.. Nothing special happended. 
The crew got some rest.
1600.
Clapton went out after a tankstop and started to pick cars in the usual manner. 
Nothing special. The hood starts to lift more and more in the middle at speed.

Epilogue.
We have to get a new starter. 
And there is something wrong with the clutch assembly.
The hood need reinforcement in the front to prevent the bending that has
cracked the reinforcements. They need to be fixed as well.   
And we need a new spoiler. Maybe, just maybe we should have two different 
next time, one without the wing and one with, see if it makes a diference.
