Race number 4, Sviestad 21/8 1999


Drivers: 
MrBeam,
Clapton,
Biggles,
Conan (the balebarian) and 
Reodor. 

Time: 3 + 3 hours
Changes since last race: 
A lot of mended fibreglass (sigh) and the bonnet (hood) reinforced 
at the very front, that's where the bending and cracking starts...  
And a new starter.



Start 900.
The race is more or less a blur of happnings. 
The report got lost in a broken down laptop. 
This is written in october.
We lost parts of the spoiler again.. and some braindamage 
made us have the car sitting in the paddok resting while 
the crew were mending the shattered spoiler. We should have 
driven her around the track without spoiler at as slower pace.. 

The alternator had give up.. We had to swap batteries with 
the towcar. A couple of times.

And at the tankstop after 2 laps Clapton came in dizzy with 
petrol fumes after 10 minutes and the spoiler shattered again. 
This time we had no relief driver so there was a race between 
Reodor and Biggles to be first to get into the nomex. 
For once Reodor was fast. 
The petrol fumes came from the fact that the tank cap can be 
put in place without being tight.. Remember this.
 
And, we did a splash and go in the end. 
There was some stirring when the driver wanted a drink and the 
crew lost their positions. 

And the gearchanger gave up, another race ended with only 3:rd gear.  
  
We are feeling that we are slowly coming.


Epilogue.
We have to get a new alternator. 
Remember the tank lid.
And always have a can of cola among the tankgear in case of a 
fast unscheduled tankstop, and a thirsty driver. 

Otherwise nothing urgent. The new 5 kg battery maybe. 
But no one has any time at all till next race..
