Homemade Bread

6 cups flour

2 yeast cakes or 3 pkgs yeast powder

2 tbs sugar

Peel cut and boil 2 medium potatoes

Save 2 cups of the potatoe water

Eat the potatoes while water cools off

Mix yeast, sugar and warm(not hot) potatoe water

allow to set and activate

Grease a mixing bowl and loaf pans

with Crisco shortning

Mix well! Flour, slowly adding yeast mixture and warm potatoe water

Adjust texture with more flour or warm water as needed

Make a large round loaf in bowl

Lightly smear with shortning

Cover mixing bowl with towel

Allow to rise in warm place until double in size

Knead down

Now you are ready for REALSCONES

Tear off a piece of dough stretch to about

pancake size then fry in hot oil

Great with butter and jelly

Form remaining mixture into three equal loaves

Place in Loaf pans and again

cover, allow to rise until double

Bake at 400f for 10 min then 350f

for 25-30 min
