This is our favorite dinner roll.
In small clean glass bowl mix
2 yeast cakes
1/3 cup warm water
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
In large glass mixing bowl mix
4 cups unsifted white flour
1 1/3 cup scalded milk-cooled to warm
1/2 cup shortening softened in the milk
2 eggs well beaten
1 teaspoon salt
When yeast solution is activated mix well into
flour base and let stand in warm area 1 hour.
Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness cut into circles with
4 inch glass or cookie cutter.
Place on baking sheet and brush each roll
with melted butter, fold in half.
Allow to rise 1 hour. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes
