Member of the North American Guild of Beer Writers. Quill and Tankard Awards: 1998 Brewery Profile (Hon. Mention), 2000 Travel Feature (Silver)

Vice President of the Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild (1993-2000), and an organiser of the Great Taste of the Midwest^sm, which is North America's second longest-running craft beer festival.

Active judge in the Beer Judge Certification Program since 1993.
