We also are the enforcers.....which means that if someone is being a jerk, he or she may not be here very long. We don't like to do it....but will kick and ban from the channel if necessary. For really nasty jerks, we have no qualms about going to the Starlink-Irc Administrators and reporting that individual, which can lead to banishment from the entire net.
Anyone legitimately offended by channel activity should make it known to an Op (via private message), or to the channel in general. Ops will take appropriate action to resolve the situation, whether it be issuance of a warning to the appropriate parties, or the actual removal of the offending individual. Under some circumstances, the Op may suggest that the offended person might want to temporarily leave the channel and return at a later time.
You may want to become familiar with the channel rules.....and if you EVER feel there is a problem with anybody.....please message one of us and we will help.
Rule 1. Do not annoy anyone.
Rule 2. Do not become too easily annoyed.
Rule 3. No obscenities, please. Soap is available for washing out the mouth of an offender. If that doesn't work, the individual may be kicked and banned.
Rule 4. No overt or graphic sexual language, please. While friendly flirting is welcome, anything beyond that belongs in a private chat or a temporary channel. Sexual harrassment will result in a kick and ban from the channel.
Rule 5. Lurking is discouraged. If you are in several different channels and you do not interact with those here in #Babyboomers, you may find yourself kicked.
Rule 6. No clones, please. If you want to bring a clone into the channel, please ask an op first.
Rule 7. Don't hog the channel. Excessively large text files or refusing to allow others to talk might cause you to flood out or be kicked.
