Large modern winery, specialising in sparkling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietal wines. Made 80 cases of their first Pinotage vintage in 1999 from their 3 acre vineyard.
Light red purple colour, sweet fruity nose, foloows through with morello cherry, rasrpberry and blueberry, spices, and hints of dry ground peppercorns. Medium tannins and very long dry aftertaste. Excellent. (PFM 7/2002)

Other wineries have been redesigning their labels, getting new names and changing winemakers, but at Jacobsdal father and son Cornelis and Hannas Dumas keep a steady hand on the tiller. They continue to make Pinotage they way they always have, and showing Distell's keen consultants the door. And why not, when they make such enjoyable dinner wines as the 2001?
2001 -Beautiful dark red colour, good well rounded body with meaty fruit flavours, and a long smooth finish. This wine slips down a treat with dinner and leaves one surprised the bottle empties so quickly. (Runner up 2004 Top 10)

2000Light bright clear purple colour, warm and mouthfilling with sweet fruits, wild strawberries, light but long lasting tannins in the aftertaste from 1 year on French oak. Lovely approachable dinner wine. Excellent (PFM 5/2002)
