How Many Licks Does it Take to Get to the Tootsie Roll Center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop???

First thing's first: Each participant shall recieve two Tootsie Roll Pops of different fruit flavors of their choice, under the circumstances that they will follow the set rules for the experiment.

Rules!
#1. What exactly is a lick?
---- A lick shall be defined as one running of the tongue over ONE side of the lollipop. (You know what a lick is, silly!!) If you are one of those people who just cannot eat a lollipop without sticking the WHOLE thing in your mouth, then try your best to refrain, but if you happen to find it already submerged, remove it imediately and count this as three licks; every subsequent occurance shall count as two licks.

#2. You shall not participate in any other activity during the practice of this experiment (i.e. homework other than this). You might get distracted and lose count.

#3. You shall use the provided paper to record your data. Use a tally mark to represent every twenty licks. If you end up with a number other than a multiple of twenty, write down the final total.

#4. Return data sheets to either Mary or Christi by 10:00pm, Sunday, May 17, 1998.

#5. You have officially reached the Tootsie Roll center of the Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop when all of the hard candy shell is completely dissolved from the Tootsie Roll center. If the Tootsie Roll center is reached on one side of the lollipop, then move to another unfinished area to continue the count. (1 lick, 2 licks-- 2 licks!! A-HA-HA-HA!thunder and lightning, thunder and lightning, etc...

#7. Thank you for your time and effort. It is greatly appreciated. Remember, this is a final exam grade for us. So, always let your conscience be your guide! (Jiminy Cricket said to tell you that!)
