I would sincerely like to thank Tom Allewelt for the beers he brought back from his trek through New England. There was Frye’s Leap IPA, Cottrell Old Yankee Ale, Mystic Seaport Pale Ale, Kennebec River IPA and Geary’s Summer Ale. On Sunday, Oscar and I tried the Frye’s Leap IPA brewed by Sebago Brewing, Gorham , ME. It was excellent. Thanks again, Tom.I also want to thank Tom for the Wild Goose IPA and Old Dominion Pale Ale from the Washington, DC area. |

“Fosters” may be Australian for “beer”, but if you buy a can of Fosters in the US, it is brewed in Canada. As recently as the late 1980’s Fosters (then brewed in Australia) used to come in a 25 ounce “oil can”. The can resembled a one-quart oil can. Other Australian beers were available in oil cans: Coopers Big Barrel, KB Lager, and Reschs Pilsner. Now, Fosters (brewed in Canada for US consuption) is available in a 25 ounce can that is a larger version of a conventional 12 aluminum can. In the late 1980’s Calgary Amber Lager (brewed in Canada) was available in cans that looked like present-day Fosters cans.In the late 1980's, the Australian version of Fosters, as well as Coopers, KB, and Reschs were available at Coopers Seafood House in Scranton, PA. Likewise for Calgary. |
My dad I drink Stegmaier Gold Medal (Lion Brewery, Wilkes-Barre, PA) the right way, a warm one and a cold one. |

Oscar, Jim and I enjoy Rock Green Light. The new low-carb light beer from Latrobe Brewing Company (brewer of Rolling Rock). For those on a low-carb diet who drink Miller Lite, and Michelob Ultra, now there is a 3rd choice. |
