George Pickett (1825-1875)
- Born in Richmond Virginia in 1825
- Graduated from West Point
- Fought in the Mexican War
- Resigned from the U.S. Army at the start of the Civil War
- Joined the Confederate Army in 1861 and was promoted to Brig General
- Was promoted to Major General later that year
- Defended Richmond in 1862 during the Peninsular Campaign
- Was the leader of the Famous "Picketts Charge" on July 3,
1863, at Gettysburg
- Defended Petersburg in 1864
- Fought in Five Forks and Dinwiddie Court House in 1865
