My Poem Page

I have a few select poems by other authors on this page as well as my own because I feel they are very good and worth showing.  Many of these outshine any I have written.   I have the authors names under the poems.

My Ray of Sunshine

I see a ray of sunshine on this renewed day of spring
feeling deep love of your heart set forth a hope to bring
your beauty closer within my grasp to hold so close to me
for that ray of sunshine is in truth my own desire for thee

You light my life with sweet warm flame to brighten up each day
without you dear I would be lost no path to guide my way
so love me as you have before my little ray of sun
and I shall reach out graciously as we soon become one

If you should doubt my love at all fear not for I shall stay
You've  broken down my cold hard wall with your sweet sunny ray

Something that Winds of Time cant Part

Can you hear the music of the wind as it blows over the hills
or the whispers of the water in the stream
Do you see the beauty from the sun shining down on daffodils
tell me what it means what does it mean

My love for you is much like the wonder if it all
so strong and deep it dwells within my heart
as great as an oak tree standing  tall
something that the winds of time cant part

Have you felt the morning freshness after a midnight storm
when you can smell the nectar from a rose
the daylight giving life to all that it can warm
you can almost feel it living as it grows

My love for you is much like the wonder of it all
so strong and deep it dwells within my heart
as great as an oak tree standing tall
something that the winds of time cant part

 My Anger

Once on the plain of glass where a thousand river flow
my heart was solemn as i lively searched my ground
I knew no trouble nor did foresee any impending woe
happily I took my course upon the sound

She was my ship, my life , the even keel under my soul
a beauty never seen through restless eyes
how could I know before me what possibly could unfold
was too late I knew of trouble in the skies

An angry wind of forceful need lay down its own domain
showing secrets  neath my ship and of its foe
sounding off its warning daring any to remain
as much as I had known I could not go

Lashing, pounding, beating, my ship she took hold
so elegant she thought she could withstand
but time stood still and heavily struck with fierce its awful toll
this time my ship would lose,  a weaker hand

Even as she sank amidst the deep and darkened wave
not a cry was heard from hardened skin
I knew she lost the battle and destined to her grave
my love for her screamed  agony from within

So great the dream of glory had I, for me and ship of wood
that I had failed her even from the start
i might have set a different course if i had known i should
my dignity is lost and now we part

Truckers Wrong Song

A few miles south of 80 heading north on 81
carrying a wide load, trooper escorts on this run
18 wheels burning hot down the mountainside
he thought about his wife at home
gonna have to make this ride

They told him this big load was safe, was a pillar for a bridge
guess he's gonna find out quick, already past the ridge
he's ran this way with loads like this, many times before
but this time something turned his gut
made his brake stop at the floor

Down the hill in front of him just around the curve
a four wheeler running fast has begun to swerve
came between and escort and his mighty truck
it's time to pray out to the Lord
cause he's just run out of luck

A woman and her children  were on his passing side
no place to take this heavy load, he'll just have to drive
on the shoulder to the right around the car ahead
will it work work was his last thought
if not then he'll be dead

I drove by that spot this morning wondering at the sight
highway workers moving cranes, trying to make things right
twisted metal and guardrails torn, tangled in a mess
who would get the blame for this
we know it's no ones guess

the concrete span tipped over and snapped its holding gear
the truck had lost control was what the people fear
the state has made the road wider, the four wheeler outta sight
who would get the blame for this
yea, you know I'm right

A Womans Heart

A fragile piece of crystal
A teardrop rolling down the face of a child
A tiny ray of sunlight peeking thru the clouds
All miracles in and of themselves

A  woman's  heart
Her capacity to love completely
It is given to you as a gift
Without reservation

Given so freely
It bruises easily
Your silence speaks volumes
And leaves it's mark forever

This heart that controls her thoughts
Aches to know
What have I done wrong
Have I not given enough

Tender words and endearments attract her
Feelings both spoken and unspoken
As a moth to a flame she is drawn
Afraid of the heat yet unable to resist

Again and again she returns
Each time coming closer
Knowing she could get burned And she does

It hurts
It heals
She learns
She Feels
