Note the code will be emailed to you so you can also copy it from the email message.
| 6. Now insert this code
into the HTML language of your web page either by using the paste function of your clipboard or by typing it in. If you are using Microsoft Front Page Express you access the HTML by clicking on "view"and then clicking on HTML. With FrontPage 98 you click on HTML tab near the lower left of your work area. I am not very familiar with other web page programs 6b. After finishing the above you will need to upload the changes to your web page server as you normally would 7. Instead of #6 use whatever method you normally use to construct or edit your web pages as long as you insert the code at the place you want the guestbook to appear on your page. |
You will need to remember your password (and
guestbook name)
in order to delete or edit entries made to it, etc.
That should do it! Except for one very important last step. (See below)
If there is a problem: For instance if the image linking to the guestbook provider is missing: (I had this problem with the last one I did!) Enter your Guestbook by clicking on "View My Guestbook" then click on "Guestbook Tech Center". (This is where you can make changes to entries and do all sortsof things.) You will be asked to enter your guestbook name. If you don't remember it just hit the back button and you will find it at the end of the URL address after the "=" sign. Anyway enter your guestbook name and click on submit. Now the first thing you will see at the top of this page is the HTML code for your guestbook. Just compare it to the code actually found on your page. If there are differences this could be causing a problem. Just replace the guestbook HTML code on your page with this HTML code and everything should work fine.
