Cornstock
The crescent Cornstock moon rode along the horizon, smiling in the sunrise.
All the silhouetted dancers smiled in delight and for the first time their faces shown bright.
The meaning and legend of the Field shined on brighter than ever in a storm of doubt and confusion.
But the meaning stayed true... "to keep friends together" is the only thing that has ever kept the party going.
It was never anything else, and as this century comes to a close, it was never more obvious.
Mother Nature provided a wide array of weather choices; from raging walls of black clouds to pleasant, cooling winds; cutting through the bright summer's day sun.
The most wonderful sight was the large turnout of young, happy, interesting people.
They represent the future of Cornstock.
Where they all came from is the mystery of the call of the Field.
The Cornstock elders all turned up, as if an automatic reaction, and the blend of young and old sparked the magic and lit the flames of "togetherness."
The music was strong & the music was long.
Every ear was happy with the range of melodies.
From Blues to Bluegrass and youthful energetic jams to wise experienced original compositions, the groove was happening!
No rules are posted & usually not observed.
This is a gathering of free spirits and advanced souls.
Lost children? Maybe, but not on this day.
We're mischievous and sometimes loud, but anyone here would lay down their soul to help their brother man and sista, too.
The law of love & respect, peacefulness & forgiveness rules this party.
So don't judge us from afar, cmoun inside and have a piece of our soul.
That's how I got here...
