On Feb 16-17, my wife and I bid on two pieces of computer software.
Lot # 33450 Microsoft Office Pro 97, quantity of 1 at $50.00. Ended on 2/19/98 7:00:00 PM.
Lot # 33457 Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2.1 (C) CD Rom with Certificate/manual, quantity of 1 at $45.00. Ended on 2/19/98 7:00:00 PM.
We were told that we had a winning bid. Our credit card was charged promptly. We waited 5 weeks and then emailed them to find out where our software was. They responded as follows "Due to certain circumstances with our primary supplier for your order, Auc
ionBoard will be redirecting your order to one of our alternate suppliers for fulfillment. Naturally, this change will cause some further delay in shipment. However, please rest assured that we are seeking to provide you with the same or better product."

We took this with a grain of salt because the price reasonable and we wanted the software. We waited with no response, so I fired of another email 4/12/98 inquiring into our software, here's the response "We have found a source to fulfill your order for M
Win 95 OSR 2.1c or MS Office Pro 97. Unfortunately, we anticipate needing approximately 3 weeks to prepare and ship the quantity of orders affected by our previous vendor's business demise.4/16/98
All뭩 well with the world right; wrong we went on vacation for 3 weeks expecting our software to be there when we returned. When we returned we had an email that said "At this time, we would like to extend the opportunity to cancel or wait a while longer
or Win 95 or Office Pro. Knowing that we will be delayed further in shipping, we would like you, the customer, to make the decision to continue to wait, or cancel the order.

We responded "Wait for Win95/OFFICE PRO 5/9/98"
We sent another email 5/27/98, 6/3/98, and 6/4/98 all of, which received an automated response telling us that it had been received. Now since 5/9/98 all of our communications have gone unanswered. We also called three different times during business hour
and once after hours, and responded to a voice mail that said it would be responded to normally within 48 hours. No response.
On June 26, we sent another e-mail to AuctionBoard. This time, we set up a new hotmail account. We were fairly sure we were being filtered. This one received a response. On June 29, Mark Lopez responded with the following:
Dear Mr. Carl Hodgkinson,
I would like to begin by apologizing about the way you have been treated here at AuctionBoard. I have read your letter and fully acknowledge that you need to be taken care of as soon as possible. I have asked one of our suppliers to promptly send you copi
s of your software. Your problem will be resolved with software in hand by the end of the next week. Please except our apologies and let me know if I can further assist you in this matter.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. The week ended and the next one passed. Nada. Since then, we뭭e tried to contact them through phone, fax, and e-mail. No response.
A follow-up to our complaint with the BBB revealed that they뭭e had complaints registered before, but the company has always settled things when the BBB got involved. Evidently, we won뭪 be so lucky. This is September. I think I뭭e been as patient as I ne
d to be.
Anything you can think of would be appreciated. This has been a disaster from the get-go. The Santa Clara, Calif. Better Business Bureau informs me that they've already dealt with complaints about this company several times.

Um, I only know how to create a guest book within geocities. I don't know it will work with other servers. (in fact I've had a home page in geocities only.) If you still want to know I'll contact you.
