1 Sept 98
I had a strange dream involving most of my relatives on Dad's side of the family. The strangest part was that except for their hair and basic builds, they all looked different, but I knew who they all were without a problem. I had seen, in real life, Grandma and Grandpa in early August, Aunt Judy (Dad's sister) and Uncle Al in May, and Dad's other two sisters, Kelly and Barbara, and Kelly's husband Walt about two or three years ago. Al and Judy live up North near my hometown, but the rest of them live in Florida.

In the dream, I walked up to the door of their condo building and called up for them to let me in. I had my duffel bag over one shoulder, as if I had just arrived from travelling there, which seemed odd, but I went up in the elevator and knocked on the door, and they let me in, and that's when I discovered that they all looked different. They all welcomed me in, and I also thought it was strange that Al and Judy were there, because like I said, they live up North near home, but there they were, and Kelly and Walt and their (in reality due in October) baby boy were there, as was Barbara, but the girls haven't lived with Granma and Grandpa in a number of years, so I was, even in the dream, thinking that all of that was just plain weird.

Anyway, I had arrived just before dinner, on an afternoon where the sun was still up, and dusk not yet arrived, and the dream kind of faded out sometime between the initial conversations of greeting and our taking our seats at the table. I still think it's weird that everyone looked different and that I appeared there seemingly out of the blue. That, though, is the point of the dream I'm supposed to take to heart and ponder, I think. Maybe my subconcious was telling me to consider those concepts that relate to unintended consequences of actions and the changes that they can make in situations. That's certainly something to think about. One night during the week of 12-19 Sept 98
For some reason, time travel, one Fraternity Brother, Brice, numerous women, none of whom had facial features, and a Manager, Danny, from one of the cafeterias on campus, appeared in my dream one night. Here goes.

I was standing in a very modern-looking room with what appeared to be a very fancy gate or door structure in the middle of it, and I start the dream with me walking toward it. Danny calls down from an open control booth, appearing as he does lately, agewise, and he tells me good luck in finding Brice. I don't know why I'm looking for the reigning Coastal Carolina Univ. Big Man on Campus, (who is ironically only 4' 7") but apparently that's not important. I tell him I'll do what I can, not realizing I'm about to step through a time portal thing, and step through.

On the other side, there's Danny calling down from the control room again, but five years younger, asking if I found Brice. Of course I didn't, and am starting to get confused, so I ask why I was looking for him in the first place. He asks if I forgot, which of course I did, and he reminds me that Brice has the microfilm that we need to complete the project, which he says in a near-reverent tone. So he says he'll adjust the controls and tells me to step through again. The wavering image in the door, not unlike the rising waves of heat off a road on a hot summer day, shifted slightly and the rate of the waver sped up, and then I stepped through again, and there I was, back in that same room, but now fifteen years ahead in time of the starting point.

Well, there's Danny again, and I'm extra confused now, and Danny cheers that I'm back okay and says that Brice just got back with the film and said I saved him from the Lybians just in time and sent him back. Since Danny saw I was time-lagged, he said I could do my debrief in the morning with our Boss, and the cafeteria was getting ready to serve its specialty food pills that evening, and I wouldn't want to miss it. I ask him what the hell's going on, but all he can manage to do is cheer, he's so happy I'm back, and then Brice comes out from a door under the control booth and congratulates and thanks me. I just kind of rolled with the whole deal and went to dinner, where all the guys cheered and there were many beautiful women lounging around in scanty, scintillating clothes but had absolutely no facial features, and I'm not even talking Michael Myers, I'm talking like wig stands made of styrofoam. They had the appropriate skin colors for the rest of their bodies, but no features, not even eyes. No ears on them, either. Very weird, I thought, and so I just kept my skepticism and rolled with it, but as the guys were all cheering for me in the cafeteria of whatever installation this was taking place in, I was thinking how especially weird the faceless women were, and then, the dream faded to black.

No, I'm not even going to attempt to conjecture as to what that means, friends.
