MY POETRY PAGE!!

These are poems that I have written. I hope that you enjoy them!!!

AN EVERLASTING LOVE

It don't matter if it is night or day.
You take all my troubles and pains away.
You're there for me, when I'm in need.
To be a truly blessed friend indeed

Where there once was nothing but clouds in my way.
You have rolled them back, to reveal a bright sunny day.
I can face the world with hope in my eyes.
And see it again with clear blue skies.

You have taken away all my frowns.
And pulled me up when I was down
Taught me how to, once again, Smile.
That can be seen from a country mile!

On what road our love and respect shall go.
Only the good lord and his angels in heaven know.
So hand in hand, we'll take each day as it shall be.
Knowing that your love has set me free!!

ONE FINAL PLEA

Where on Earth do you find
All those thoughts in you mind
And then, I wonder when will it be
That you open your eyes and see me.

All those hedious things you say
Makes me want to run far away
But I can't go, it would tear me apart
For I love you with all my heart

I can't stop you from thinking what you do
But can't you see, you're tearing me in two
I have, and will always be, true to you
And your not seeing that, makes me blue

Please open your eyes and your heart
Don't tear us completely apart.
I can't find a reason you need me to stay
You're constantly through words and actions, pushing me away.

I have been here for you, all through the years
To watch us come to an end, through my tears
And no matter what you think is true
I will always, until my final days, love you.

A TRIBUTE TO TAMMY

This fine country woman, was born Virginia Wynette Pugh in Nineteen Forty-two.
And became, Tammy Wynette, the First Lady of Country to sing for me and you.
She was a beautician in Alabama, before singing in Portor Wagoner's road shows.
With her whole family against her, and three small kids to feed, she gave country music a go.

And with the song, "Apartment #9", written by Johnny Paycheck, it became her first hit.
"Stand by your man," "I don't wanna play house," and "D-I-V-O-R-C-E," her songs you can't forget.
Singing songs that could reach out and touch your heart, and bring you to tears.
Named her CMA's Female Vocalist of the Year, three times in as many years.

She recorded more than 50 albums and with more than 30 million records sold.
From a scared little farm girl, she went on to be, truly country gold.
Her songs hit Billboard's country charts 70 times, more than half made the top 10, and 20 were #1 hits.
Randy Travis, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, and George Jones to name a few to which she'd done a duets.

Yes, she was a great singer, and a really fine lady, we all know this is true.
And her passing from this world to the next really makes us blue.
But she left behind a legacy, that stands out to me, to be really true.
Give all the love that you can in this world, and it will come back tenfold to you!!!

COUNTRY TIME TRAVEL

I agree that Garth, Reba, and Rhett are
young and hot
But let's take a trip back in time
to an older spot.
Back to a time when you could see a
smile on your "Pop".
Way back when Patsy, Hank, and Marty
were the ones on top.
And the Queen of Country was none other
than Ms. Kitty Wells.
When songs were about families, trucks,
trains, and jails.
Where a person could find something in a song,
in which he could relate.
And a square dance at the Miller's barn, was the
perfect Saturday date.

Let Red Sovine make you cry with the
lyrics of "Teddy Bear"
Take the "Grand Tour" with George Jones
and the pain, he shares.
Find out from Johnny Cash about
"A boy named Sue."
And exactly why Crystal Gayle sings "Don't
it make my brown eyes blue."
Let's learn why Michael Martin Murphy asks
the question, "What's forever for"
And who can't Charlie Rich wait to get
"Behind closed doors"
Or what's for sale in Dolly Parton's
"Bargain Store"
And why Charley Pride, "Don't think
she's in love anymore."

So come on now, and take the chance and help
me turn back the clock.
Grab up that phone, and dial your local country station,
and put them into shock.
Request an oldie but a goodie, and let's bring
back some of the past.
And help those older artists out of the waste bins
where they've been cast.
When you do, I'm sure that you will
also agree
That the older country music can certainly touch
the heart of you and me

LIFE, LOVE, DESTINY AND FATE

Could it honestly be called my destiny?
Or is it simply a wonderful twist of fate.
That has sweetly brought your love to me
To share this world and be my true soul mate.

Could our love truly go on forever?
Or like a rose, shall it die and fade away
Shall you make a promise to leave me never?
No matter what I should ever do or say.

If love, life were truly simple.
Dreams would not be fantasies
Save these dreams, our minds build temples
For most we never find the keys. .

Can we obtain a love everlasting?
Adore and cherish each moment together.
Live side by side never contrasting.
To live or hide from the changes in weather.

Love is emotion beyond our control.
And life's a gift given at birth.
Don't know what is had 'til it takes a stroll
Then we realize what that love is worth.
