Stories of Meeting with the Dixie Chicks

From CheifCWebb:
I saw the Chicks last night at the Long Branch Nightclub in Raleigh, NC and they totally rocked the place!!!!! It was so awesome. I was lucky enough to see them in Myrtle Beach before they really got famous and I partied with them and the band after the show because I am good friends with the band that plays at the club there...But this time it was even better..They have a following like you wouldnt believe now. We got there like an hour early and the line was around the building! People were standing in line yelling Chicks Kick Ass!! They are even selling pins now that say that..Natalie yelled it out a few times during the concert. The security had a hard time with the crowd because it was so wild..One thing that I liked a lot was at the end of the show they started to sing "I Can Love You Better" and the security was making everybody at the front sit down and it made everyone mad naturally. Natalie stopped the music and was telling the security that it sucked and that it was a shame that people had to pay $20 and couldnt even stand up. She yelled to the crowd, "I think we shoud rebel!!" And the head of security came out and told everybody to stand up if they wanted to..Natalie winked her eye at the crowd and then started the song..It was so cool..I absolutely love the Chicks, espescially Natalie!! She is the coolest and very beautiful and sexy too!! ;-) At the end she threw a scarf she had around her neck that is made out of feathers in the audience and 2 girls were fighting over it literally. Feathers fell to the floor and I started picking some up..lol I also got Natalie's program that she had taped to the floor in front of her and the lead guitarist's guitar pick..It was a night I will never forget and judging by the way the crowd reacted, the Dixie Chicks are well on their way to the top! They Rule!!

From DizGrl86:
Well, it all started August 14th 1998. The Dixie Chicks was doing a concert at The Iowa State Fair. My cousin is a singer. She wants to be a country singer when she grows up. My cousin and I made to posters one Saying We Love You Dixie Chicks! and the other saying Lindsey And Allison Welcome The Dixie Chicks To The Iowa State Fair! Well and my cousins mom made teeshirts saying We love You Natalie, Emily and Martie. Well we were 4 hours before the concert We had second Row seats. Then Savannha Jones From the Hawk 97.3 came and told us to come on. I squeezed through the fence but my cousin had to be lifted over it. Then they put this stickers on us saying we are guest. Then all of a sudden my cousin and i saw them come out of the bus. When it was our turn. I just started to say what a big fan i was. And then Savannah Jones took two pictures of us with the dixie chicks. The first picture my cousin was by Martie and Natalie, and I was by Emily and Natalie. They had there arms around us. And then the second picture we put our heads together. THen we had to go. But before we went Martie Ask us if we wanted them to sign our posters I said sure and I said you can sign my shirt. Martie read the shirt out loud and said wow that is coooooool.... The signed our posters and shirts then we left. When the concert started it was wild and cooool. Mostly they were staring at us. Emily winked at me. When the concert was over. I was mad cause I didnt want it to end. Before I went home I bought A dixie CHicks shirt. it was a ripple shirt and it said Chicks Rule and it had a pick girl sign on it and on the back it said Dixe Chicks. Well that is my story

From Rob:
I am an usher for Musikfest which is a popular event in eastern PA. I was ushering a Savage Garden concert on the Sunday that the chicks played. After the Savage Garden concert myself and two of my friends went to hear the chicks play. The concert was packed. It was the most people that had ever been at Americaplatz in the history of Musikfest. Americaplatz is the site of their concert. Anyway...My friends and I were trying to manuver through the crowds and we ran into people with backstage passes. Since we worked at Musikfest they asked us to take them to the stage. As we were talking to them we found out that the one man we were escorting was Martie's husband. Later that night he hooked myself and my 2 friends up with backstage passes.

From Janelle:
The Dixie Chicks first show in Canada was at the Stampede in Calgary, Alberta. The show was in a bar, so me being a minor (15), I had to sneak my way in before 3 o'clock, because after that, minors had to leave. Well, to my luck, nobody noticed I was 15, but the only trouble was, the Dixie Chicks weren't playing until 9:00 pm, leaving me to wait for 6 hours. I couldn't leave to go to the bathroom, or else I wouldn't get back in! But when the show finally came, it was ALL worth it. I was right up againts the stage only a couple feet away from all of them. I headed over to the signing booth before the last song, only to find out that they weren't going to sign until after their second show. So I had to wait another 45 minutes, but got to watch another one of their shows. After, I went to get their autographs, and told them what I had gone through to see them. I talked to them for a bit, and Natalie told me I must be about to burst after not going to the washroom for 9 HOURS! It was the coolest experience of my life and totally worth waiting! Those chicks definitely kick ass!

From Greg:
I was sitting in a bar-b-q resturant in Ellijay GA having a delicious lunch one day. This place is a little log cabin decorated with pictures and autographs of people that the owner has met and had as guests in his establishment. The walls are decorated with newspaper clippings and pictures of famous people - presidents, governers, movie stars and music stars. Right as I was about to take a big 'ole bite of bbq I saw a picture of the Dixie Chicks hanging on the wall. I had to get up and take a gander at it and noticed that it was signed "Thanks for the great ribs - The Dixie Chicks" Well needles to say that made my day, I only wish that I had been there at the same time they were. Later!

From Chris:
I work at The Ranching Heritage Association in Lubbock, where the Chicks played the Cattle Barons Ball on June 20. I was an employee, so I guess That is why I got to go back and meet them after thier concert. I talked to Emily for about 10 minutes, and she is just gorgeous! i got a pic or two with her and Martie, and together they are absolutely beautiful. If they ever happen to read this, that was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Emily is, and will always be my favorite Dixie Chick! It was quite an evening, and I am sure I sounded and acted like a total dork, but I got to meet the woman of my dreams, so I was happy.

My sister, mom, 6 year old niece and I were in Nashville during Fan Fair Week and just happened to go to the Nascar Cafe for dinner on Tuesday, June 16. Well, the Dixie Chicks were there doing an interview for Nascar Country. They came out of the sound booth and we tried to get an autograph but a manager or agent was with them and was intent on hustling them out without stopping for autographs. We walked outside and they were parked in the same parking lot as us. My niece, Rebekah, is a HUGE fan and she approached them for autographs and told them that the Easter Bunny had brought her their CD. They just melted. They all signed autographs for her and talked to her for several minutes. After that, she was ready to come home-she didn't care about anything else we had planned for our Nashville trip. They were so nice. It really was a testament to their good hearts-and it really made the trip for a 6 year old little girl.

From Brian:
Well, the story goes that either the night before or the night after their concert, they decided to go to a karaoke bar and perform. Apparently they weren't really recognized (but if things keep up, they will definitely be), and got away with entering the contest. And when all the votes were tallied, the Dixie Chicks finished second. They ended up singing backup for the girl who won the contest for the rest of the night. I thought that would be a cool story for your page. By the way, Natalie is GORGEOUS.

From Tammi:
I called into our local radio station KYCY (Young Country 93.3) in Vallejo, CA; and won. I have never won anything in my life. Anyway, I won two tickets for a Monster Truck thing. I knew the concert (Clay Walker, Terri Clark and The Dixie Chicks) was coming up (5/30) and I wanted to go for my birthday. So I asked the DJ if he had any tickets for the concert. Well sure enough, I also won tickets for a VIP bbq before the concert. We were excited. We went to the bbq and in walked the Dixie Chicks. My daughter, age 10 and myself, just turned 39, were able to meet them and get a sighed autograph. It was soooooo cool. The concert was terrific. Anyway just thought you would appreciate the story. Keep up the goodwork.

From Chris:
I saw the Dixie Chicks in a club in Myrtle Beach,SC called the Beach Wagon. Those girls totally blew us all away! I was lucky enough to be in the very front and directly in front of Natalie about 2 feet from her, I swear! I dont know how I held my composure. I just stared into her dreamy eyes all night while she captivated my heart. They are so talented and down to earth. I got to meet them all, got my picture taken with them, got autographs, got hugs(my favorite) ;-)... They are just so awesome and I dont see how they couldnt go very very far because they love what they do and most of all, they love their fans.. Dixie Chicks Rule!!!!!

From David:
I went to a free concert at an event called the Taste of Cincinnati where I waited all day to see the Dixie Chicks. I finally saw them and they put on a great show. They even acknowledged me and made a joke straight to me cause I was in the front row and they heard every word I said. Martie even said thank you to me specifically. The only problem was that the line for autographs afterwards was long so the people who stayed for the whole show, the real fans, didn't get their autograph. I was one of the real fans. Oh well. I still got to see a great show because the Chicks are great performers.

From William: I was very lucky to see the Dixie Chicks perform live!! The concert was only $3.00 for them and Ricochet to perform!! The show was fabulous!! I was very lucky to have met and talked with everyone involved at the show including the lovely and talented Dixie Chicks!! They singed autographs for me and my girlfriend!! It was by far the best $3.00 I have ever spent!! The Dixie Chicks rule and I love there music alot!! God Bless!!
