The Long Wait
Alone in my life Without a friend, I wait for a message Within the silence. Persecution Of me, myself, and I Builds the foundation By which I am supported. Why must I Endure these pains? I wait alone For the answer to come. Behind my back- But still I can hear- They speak the words, Condemning me to death. Alone I sit Before the jury As I am convicted Due to false evidence. Before the judge I stand here now, Weeping, As I hope no one has ever wept. My sentence Is a lifetime of pain From the words That the serpents speak. I now awake And I am trapped Within walls Built by their lies. Here is my world, I am alone. I have no friends. I can trust no one. I am the outcast Guilty until proven Otherwise innocent, The impossible task. Alone I sit And wait For the message to come Through the silence.
