“Two Hours and Six Minutes of TV and Six Minutes of Recall”

My work is usually based on passing thoughts or occasions that I revisit only when I finally find a true voice for it.  These are thoughts and occasions that reoccur to a point where I can’t ignore it and I begin to figure out a vocabulary for it.  I investigate the fundamental thought; I investigate myself, and my own demons.  I attempt to find some resolution as I approach the end of the process.  I resolve some demons, create new ones, and achieve a better understanding of self.

Ironically, it’s not myself who I try to place on public display.  At the end, I turn my attention to my audience.  I observe how I’ve communicated with the audience and how the audience will interact with the piece.  Ultimately, when done right, I’ve placed my audience on the gallery wall for public display and given them the opportunity to investigate themselves.
