The CYC is well known for its high standards and frequent performances. Entry is by audition and all young people aged 9 years and above are welcome to apply. |

6.00 - 7.00 (Veronica Morgan)This is a brass group of Intermediate Standard (Grades 1 - 5). "In addition to playing various styles of written music we improvise, play musical games and compose our own pieces". Members also get a chance to conduct the band or play solos - but only if they want to! (Associate Group) |

On Wednesday evenings the Music Centre is available for hire for private concerts, rehearsals etc. (subject to availability). Lettings may also be possible during the day (Monday - Friday). For further information contact the Music Centre. |

ORCHESTRA | |
The Carlisle Youth Orchestra is a full symphony orchestra, which performs in at least two concerts every season. The minimum standard required is usually Grade 5 (although exceptions are sometimes made). Members are drawn from all over North Cumbria and students from West Cumbria are also encouraged to apply. Further information is available from the Music Centre. |

There are limited assisted places available on application to the Heads of Centre.
Registration for all groups will take place on Monday 20th and Friday 24th September between 5.00 and 7.00 in the Music Centre. Existing members may register by post, confirming address, telephone and group details.
