The Surf's Song
In the afterglow of reverie
Deep inside my soul I seek meaning
There is a sweet nothingness to the breeze
A cooling moist towel of the wind
Here at the beach I hear a song
It whispers "be still" or roars "be alive"
Crashing forward with immense power
The waves come at me then with no cause
Lay down at my feet as if giving homage
Is it my power to calm the surf as it does me
I have come to the realization of living
We are nothing and everything, cryptic verses
We seek these moments of quiet solitude
We live in the company of friends and loves
In those we love we hear the song and smile
For loving is as effortless as a breath
Breathing in the surf is to see your face again
Listening to the surf is to hear your voice
Feeling the wind is to feel your soft lips on mine
