United States Air Force Thunderbirds
Native Americans once looked to the skies in hopes that the Thunderbird would grant them victory in battle. Today, that legend lives as the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron continues to showcase the capabilities of American airpower, and the pride and professionalism of 400,000 men and women who are charged with its responsibility.
These pictures were taken at the 1997 Wings of Eagles airshow in Big Flats, New York. This year's show will be in Mid-August and the Thunderbirds are scheduled to be back. Can't wait to see them again. The National Warplane Museum has recently moved to Horseheads, New York from their previous location in Batavia, NY. The Museum is currently in the midst of a $5.2 million construction project of its new facility and is scheduled to open in mid-summer of 1998.
