Quote: "Our gaping thirst for life is never quenched. We have to know what luck next year will bring, What accidents, what end. but life, prolonged, Subtracts not even one second from the term Of death's continuance. We lack the strength To abbreviate that eternity. Suppose You could contrive to live for centuries, As many as you will. Death, even so, Will still be waiting for you; he who dies Early this moring has as many years Interminably before him, as the man His predecessor, has, who perished months Or years, or even centuries ago."
- Lucretius On the Nature of Things
I am but a shell of my previous existence. I look exactly like my mortal self, yet my touch is cold and my heart is no longer beats, or feels the passion which is stirred by lust or happiness. Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder what I have become. I rarely think of my past or what might have been if I wouldn't have gone looking for my friends in that frat house. Perhaps it was my destiny, maybe I was destined for darkness.
I came to Montreal in the year 1997. Originally I was from New York, where I lived with my loving parents and family. I came to Concordia University to study History and Classics. This was a giant step for me, I was only 21 at the time, I left my home, parents and loving boyfriend, Brad to pursue my education in a new unique city.
Montreal was a beautiful city, and people here insist that it is terribly cold in the the winter, I could not for an instant believe them, since the summers are warm and gorgeous, I couldn't imagine it getting any colder. But it did, or rather I got colder.
In September of that year, at the beginning of classes, I made several new friends, including two guys in my apartment building. I can still see their faces dripping with blood as they hung upside down from my ceiling, but I am getting ahead of myself.
During the first week of school, I participated in a few activities held my McGill University, with my new buddies. There were many activities, one which involved my friends running naked across the street. As they participated in this dardevilish act, I proceeded to gather up their clothes and follow them into the frat house they entered. Unsuspecting of my destiny which lay therein.
