Hamilton is New Zealands largest inland City with a population of over 108,000. The
City is divided by the Waikato River which starts its journey
from Lake Taupo and flows out to sea at Port Waikato. The East and
West are connected by 6 bridges, the newest being the Pukete Bridge which
was opened on 20th October 1996.

The Waikato valley and adjoining Waipa valley with the Hauraki Plains are among the world's top producers of dairy cattle, deer and thoroughbred horses as well as high deliverers of beef, poultry, pigments, sheep and goats.
