Abby was the very first rat to live in the Rat Palace. Emma's Dad built the palace just for her when she started to outgrow her first cage.Emma and Artie brought Abby home from the pet store to keep another rat, Sammy company. However Sammy got sick and died after only two weeks, leaving Abby alone.
During her stay in the palace, Abby got to visit Emma's sophmore honor's english class when Emma was giving a speech on rats. Most everyone in the class petted her, and even one person touched her tail! (Honestly, our tails aren't gross and slimy... its just that everyone seems to think they are.)
Abby liked eating grapes and her favorite band was the Spice Girls. She especially liked their song called Who Do You Think You Are? I like Emma and Artie a lot. However Abby seemed to play favorites and always liked Emma better.
Abby died on January 17, 1999 (the day before Emma's 17th birthday) while Emma was away with friends on a school band trip to Disney World in Orlando. When Emma came home late the next night (her birthday) she found out about poor Abby.
After she died, Abby left the Rat Palace to me in her will. I miss Abby, but I am very happy to live here!
