Losers
Old List
We are the men and women of Woofers-L. I can't really say whether
we are the original woofers email list -- as I know there are several others now; and I'm
sure there were some before us that are now defunct. The woofers-l list was started
over a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, like some relationships will, we have had
our share of problems. About a month or two ago -- these problems came to a head --
and the several of the woofers-l members decided they could no longer continue woofing as
a complete group. The rest of us decided we could stick it out -- and are still
here.
Why the Losers Old List? One of the woofers-l members was recently
sent a link to a website -- a haunted
mansion that really was very interesting. On the main page -- there is a phrase
that includes the words "Losers Old List (LOL)" -- a derogatory reference to
those of us still part of woofers-l. Actually, I'm proud to be part of the
LOL.
If being part of the LOL means: I was willing to work things out; I was willing to
make the best of a bad situation; I was willing to think before I acted -- then yes -- I
am very HAPPY to be part of the Losers Old List. If it means: I'm not willing to
blindly follow one or two individuals; I'm not willing to dump my friends because of
rumors; I'm not willing to exploit my former friends and their misfortunes in life -- then
once again, I am very HAPPY to be part of the Losers Old List. I think I speak for
the rest of woofers-l, aka LOL, when I say we will be around for a long time; and although
we may have our problems, differences, and arguments -- we will be able to work them out,
because we don't run from them, but face them head on.
Long Live The LOL!

Below are just a few of the pictures of the hoomin
side of LOL.

This is Celia Trimble Boone. She is a family practice lawyer in
Texas. Unless you meet her -- you'll never know the brains that lay beneath that
beauty. "Beauty is only skin deep" and "Beauty lies in the eyes of
the beholder." Celia's beauty is not only physical -- but she is beautiful
through and through. She is always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on; and
to lend a hand when needed. She also lets you know exactly what she thinks -- so if
you don't like people telling you like it is -- don't cross her path!

This is John Perkins, and Cupid. Cupid is the
"ringleader" of the Wild Bunch -- you can read more about them here. John is an ICU nurse in Dallas, Texas. He is
da**
good at what he does -- I think part of that stems from his genuine compassion and caring
for the human race; and from his willingness to let his feelings show. We've all
heard that a "real" man doesn't cry; that a "real" man doesn't show
his feelings. Well let me tell you -- John Perkins is a heck of a lot more
"real" man than most of the men I've met in my entire lifetime. It takes a
real man to admit he cares; it takes a real man to cry in public; it takes a real man to
reveal his feelings publicly. It also takes a real man to be silly publicly -- and
without fear of retribution or being labelled as strange (which, of course, we all know he
is . . . .teehee). I also know from personal conversations from John that he's been
through a lot more than most of us will see in a lifetime; more than most of us would ever
WANT to see. Most recently -- John had to bury three newborn pups -- all less than 4
days old. A "real" man can't cry? HA! Tell that to John
Perkins!

From left to right -- Breeze, Sue, Hancock, David, and Roofus
David and Sue just started working at a local restaurant -- trying to
fix some things that went wrong in the past. They had the opportunity to buy into
the restaurant -- but chose not to yet. Taking the smart path -- they decided to
wait and see how it goes first. If they like it -- they will join the ranks of
America's finest -- the small business owners. Like John, David and Sue also had to
face a difficult situation this week. Roofus -- their darling Irish Setter, went to
the Bridge this week to join John's furbabies and keep them company. Sue is also
facing problems with her parents -- very much a role reversal. It's always hard when
the child becomes the parent -- fortunately, Sue and David know they can count of the rest
of the woofers for support, a kind word, and most especially an ear. Without
hesitation -- they offer the same in return.
LOL!
